History of Slovenia – SIstory is a portal that has been developed since 2008 as part of the Research Infrastructure of Slovenian Historiography programme at the Institute of Contemporary History. This online system enables the creation of research data and their use in a scientific environment. It is part of the national research infrastructure DARIAH and is primarily intended for researchers in the field of history and related disciplines.

Part of the portal’s content consists of textual sources in the field of history: academic and professional literature, primary and secondary sources, and records of conferences and lectures. At the beginning of 2025, the portal contained more than 60,000 records:
- sources: 37,883;
- literature: 21,384;
- events and conferences (recordings): 1,771;
- digital humanities data: 39.
Another part of the portal’s content consists of collections (databases) of research data:
- Historical Citation Index, which enables the tracking of citations in academic publications in the field of Slovene history and currently contains more than 6,500 recorded works and their citations.
- Military Casualties of the First World War from Slovene Territory, with data on over 33,000 individuals;
- Fatalities among the Population in the Territory of the Republic of Slovenia During and Immediately after World War II, with data on over 100,000 individuals;
- Slovenian Population Censuses from 1830 to 1931, including 26 municipal census units from the 19th and 20th centuries, currently comprising data on over 300,000 individuals;
